If you clicked on the link to this page, chances are you have never done much of any archery or you gave it a try years ago and haven't been back to it since. Perhaps your kids want to learn to shoot. Either way you've come to the right place.

If you are a young shooter JOAD is probably the the best way to get started in archery. You can read more about Reading's JOAD program by clicking here. Perhaps the best on-line source regarding JOAD is the Texas Archery Association. That website can be access by clicking here.

Once you have read over the materials on our website and the Texas Archery website, if you or your child want to participate in the JOAD program it is as simple as showing up at the club during a scheduled JOAD event or you can contact the Joad Co-ordinator for more information.

If you are an adult and wish to get started in archery or resurrect an old interest in archery you may want to check out the club schedule and arrive at the club during one of our shoots. Archers in general are friendly people and the club officers, members, and participants will be glad to help get you started. There is also a myriad of on-line resources to learn more about archery, equipment, tournaments, etc. See our links page for more resource listings.
